Peering is the process by which two Internet networks connect and exchange traffic. In simple terms, peering is a direct interconnection between networks such as content providers, Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), DNS root servers, telecommunications companies, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), IPTV networks, and other networks for the exchange of traffic. Networks come together to interconnect and exchange traffic directly. Peering makes the Internet more affordable and faster for the end user.
